On September 27 to 29, great wine and food were served up at the 4th Annual Greenwich Wine and Food Festival presented by Serendipity magazine. This annual event is a destination for foodies but its overall aim is charity. This year, the beneficiary of the event was Paul Newman’s “The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp“. The camp was set up by Newman in order to provide a camp environment for seriously children that allows them to “raise a little hell”.

With a great beneficiary for an event like the Greenwich Wine + Food Festival, it didn’t take much effort to recruit some well-known culinary successes. Festival attendees had the opportunity to rub elbows and chat with well known chefs such as Aaron Sanchez and Geoffrey Zakarian of of “Chopped” fame, and well-known cherts: Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Joe Campanale, Anne Burrell, and John Stage.

Also mingling with the crowd were actor Adam Richman from NBC’s “Food Fighters” and Kathie Lee Gifford from the “Today Show”. Gifford was friendly and bubbly inviting folks to try her wine venture called GIFFT, a partnership with Scheid Family Wines from the Monterrey Wine Region.
