NYFW Review & Photos: Duckie Brown Fall/Winter 2012

Talk about taking classic fabrics, such as tweed and creating interesting silhouettes. Duckie Brown Fall 2012 collection pays homage to classic English design but with modern shapes. For example, over-sized pieces such as the fair isle sweater, charcoal donegal tweed long two pocket work shirt, and the buffalo check circular trousers (see below).

Exaggeration is the focal point in Duckie Brown Fall 2012 collection. An interesting addition to this seasons collection is the pops of color in some of the pieces that are displayed in the exploded plaid overcoats and the Irish fair isle double breasted jacket. If not for the splashes of color the collection would have been all monochromatic. The naturally well lit industrial white loft space complemented the voluminous garments as it made a great contrast between dark and light. Designers Steven Cox and Daniel Silver never fails with their interesting twist on silhouettes. Cox labeled the collection as “hiking evening”.
