Drink in Style: Elegant Handblown Tumblers by Aruliden

glasscape_tumblers_aruliden_2b-thumb-468x461-59715The Escape Glass created by New York-based design firm, Aruliden, is the perfect glassware for your next house party.

These hand blown glass tumblers are shaped like their lesser boring cousins, but the bottom of the glass is inverted upward, creating sculptural cliffs and mountains within the glass.  No shape is the same, but all provide plenty to talk about with party goers or to admire as you sip your cognac or scotch.

We wanted to create a product that would evoke a sense of escape when complemented with liquid.” Commented Aruliden’s Rinat Aruh.  “The asymmetrical form within the glass distorts light and its liquid contents, creating an interesting visual from every angle.

You may not climb a mountain while you enjoy your drink in the Escape Glass, but you may be able to contemplate the lyrics to “Landslide.”  And if not, your drink should stay chilled.  According to Rinat Aruh, the formation inside the glass “allows the contents to stay cooler for a longer period of time.  “

Available at the end of October, Aruliden will be selling the Escape tumbler for about $48 for a set of four.  Cheers!
