Any true seafood lover should make it a point to stop by Fish by Jose Andres, one of the MGM’s newest restaurants, for the amazing seafood they serve. I am a fan of José Andrés, and Fish in MGM does not disappoint, not surprisingly since he is a Michelin acclaimed Chef. The decor is really fresh and the lighting is complemented by a large window with a view.

We started off with some fresh biscuits and whipped butter that looked like sour cream- which was nice in between seafood plates. It is a “small plate menu” so be prepared to order at least four items. Our first seafood item was the king crab, served on a big dish of fresh ice. It was almost sushi style in the shell. It was light and succulent, with bourbon golf sauce.

We also ordered the shrimp and grits with large succulent shrimp, the wonderfully crisp and refreshing kale salad and the scallops with a very delicious pureed green sauce. The fried kale salad featured pomegranate seeds, squash and hazelnuts; this was a highlight of the meal and quite delicious.

Next was the star of the night, the stone crab. I loved how it was served ready to eat, no cracking required. Stone crab is lighter than normal crab, and was awesome with fresh lemon. I could eat that all night. Now for the cocktails, we had a round of the Stone fence cocktails and a bottle of Rose. My table mates were not fans of the rose, but the cocktails received rave reviews. Word to the wise, they are strong.

Felt

MGM Felt

If you are looking to dance the night away and relax on a terrace with beautiful views of the Potomac, we highly recommend you take advantage of the MGM’s in house nightclub, Felt. The cover charge was $20.00 for men, which was well worth it due to the crowd, the selection of music being played and the beautiful wait staff.

We highly recommend a visit to the MGM National Harbor whether to gamble or as a long weekend filled with fun, food and fanciness – look for upcoming content on the room experience, Voltaggio Brother’s steakhouse and the National Harbor itself!
