Many of the luxury automotive brands have spent the time designing and building their own particular SUV.  Mercedes was one of the first to take their spin at what a luxury SUV should look like and what type of experience it should provide.  BMW, Porsche and Audi quickly joined the parade.

Now Bentley Motors is testing the waters with its first concept vehicle for the SUV market.  The Bentley EXP 9 F is the company’s model and it definitely isn’t your father’s Mercedes SUV!  They’ve taken the concept of off-roading to a whole new luxury level.

The “F” in the Bentley EXP 9 F stands for Falcon.  The company used the imagery of this fast fighting bird as their muse when engineering the engine of this new vehicle.  The concept SUV is based around the Bentley 6.0 litre, twin-turbocharged W12 petrol engine, developing 600bhp and 800 Nm of torque coupled with an 8-speed close-ratio transmission.  Readers Digest version:  This thing can move!

Some of the luxe features include reversible silk wool floor mats.  On one side they are finished in strong, durable saddle leather – perfect when the driver and guests jump in the vehicle after an afternoon of merry making on the snowy slopes of Aspen.

The tail section features a two-piece tailgate that can be used as an ultra-reserved box seat for a luxury tailgate party or alternatively as a picnic table when out on the polo field.   Complete with bespoke picnic hampers that stow on the sides of the back trunk space.  An awning extends over the tailgate to add a layer of protection for those sitting.  Additional umbrellas are fit on either side of the rear luggage area for those rainy days at the steeple chase.  Tally ho!

Passengers in the back can choose between business mode, with a fold-down keyboard and full internet connectivity via an iPad or tablet, or they can select a relaxed, reclined position, with powered footrest, beverage table and an infotainment screen for tv, movies or games.
