NYFW Review & Photos: NUMBER: Lab Fall/Winter 2012

Walking the path of the straight and narrow has some religious under-tones, but for NUMBER: Lab, the passion play is in the straight lines that match the athletic vibe of each piece of clothing.

The rugged look evokes an alpine town filled with flannels, wools, and tweeds.  On the narrow path of this designer hillside, each of the jackets and sweaters has an architectural vibe, clues to designer Luis Fernandez’ educational background.  The subtle simplicity of each piece of clothing includes bright colors and varied textures like panels and quilting.  Each piece serves to compliment the wearer while not distracting from the clothes.  Not an easy feat, but NUMBER: Lab’s line-up for Fall/Winter 2012 jumps easily from steep mountainside to urban coffee date with ease.
