NYFW Review & Photos: Billy Reid Fall/Winter 2012

Billy Reid Fall 2012

The Billy Reid Fall NYFW 12 collection has an air of informal formality that feels classic and timeless.  Traditional suits, dress pants and outerwear were designed for an urban gent, simple in design, but high on European chic.  Billy Reid’s refined designs are boldly drawn from the designer’s Southern roots.  Each finely tailored look exhibited a dapper, jazzy masculinity.  His textures ranged from hopsack, leather, oil cloth and cashmere.  Heavy on outerwear, there were woolen trench coats and bomber style jackets complete with fur lining and collars.  Each coat, suit and slacks were loose and flowing but athletic in form and fit, making each 100% urban hipster on the  ladder of success.
