Morgans Hotel Group Newbie | Mondrian SoHo Hotel | The French Fantasy.

Morgans Hotel Group recently unveiled its newest addition to their roster, Mondrian SoHo. Noriega-Ortiz was called on to design the hotel from top to bottom. Noriega-Ortiz is not new to the Mondrian as he designed the Mondrian Los Angeles.

For the Mondrian SoHo, Noriega-Ortiz wanted to create a French fantasy world, based on Jean Coucteau’s 1946 romantic film “La Belle et la Bête.”

The hotel offers 270 rooms with four suites. Also, the Grand Suite is located on the 25th Floor with sweeping views of Lower Manhattan.

Notice there is nothing hanging from the walls. The rooms were designed so that the views would be the main focal point.
